CANADA MOOSE HUNTING

The first night we went to a place which was about 100 yards from the place I had killed my bull 2 years prior. Ricky was calling and it didn’t take long before we had a reply from a bull. We followed the bull around for awhile and ended up by a water hole. The bull appeared and we could see he had really big paddles but it was too late to be thinking about shooting. The next day I harvested a bull with a 51 inch spread and huge paddles on each side.

I am back hunting with Wild Kakwa Outfitters. This is my second hunt with Rick Houweling, and this time I brought 5 friends along, with the promise, that they will all shoot a moose. Needless to say, at least half of the group was thinking that I had lost a couple of brain cells, and if 4 out of 6 of us get a moose, that would be considered a good trip. Rick and the crew at Wild Kakwa came through again. All 6 of us shot moose.

“As you can see from the smile on my face (wife commented that she’d never seen me smile like that before) I was very happy with the way my hunt turned out. My buddy Jay (left) and I booked this trip 18 months in advance and patiently waited for our hunt date to arrive, not really knowing what to expect when we got to Wild Kakwa’s camp.  All in all, the experience could not have turned out better. Everyone involved with Wild Kakwa, were great.
